2 Shot Dead In Ogun Cult Clash

Two persons have been reportedly killed by suspected cultists in the ongoing war between members of the Eiye and Aye confraternity groups in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The victims were killed in different parts of Abeokuta on Sunday when members of the rival cult groups went on rampage and engaged one another in bloody clash.

This is coming barely three weeks after popular area boy and a member of the Aye confraternity group, identified as Olumide Ifeoluwa was shot dead by suspected members of Eiye cult group.

Our correspondent gathered that, the Sunday killing was retaliation to the death of Ifeoluwa. The first victim, a suspected member of Eiye cult group was shot dead at Alogi junction in Obantoko area of Abeokuta, while the second victim, a member of Aye confraternity group who was identified as Timo Olukayode was killed at Bode-Olude, also in Abeokuta.

It was further gathered that Olukayode, was shot and his head also smashed with a stone. When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Omolola Odutola said she was yet to be briefed on the incidents. She promised to get back to our correspondent immediately she receives information on the killings from the Divisional Police Offers (DPOs) of the areas.
