The CAC Apapa Area Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu PhD fsi, has took part in sponsoring  sister agencies NDLEA in this year’s Walk Against Drugs in Commemoration of 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking is observed on June 26 annually.

The Apapa Area Command, also participated in activities organised by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency [NDLEA] in Lagos

According to the press release by the Apapa Area Command Public Relation Officer Chief Superintendent of Customs Abubakar Usman which read “Today, Tuesday, 25 June 2024, the CAC Apapa Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu PhD fsi, has taken collaboration with sister agencies a notch higher by participating in the Walk Against Drugs in Commemoration of 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.

The CAC joined the Commander NDLEA, Apapa Special Area Command, and other government agencies in the port to bring awareness on the dangers inherent in drug abuse. The Customs boss noted that such collaboration between sister agencies of government is crucial for intelligence sharing and ensuring public safety.

He further noted that by working together, security agencies can achieve greater success and better protect their communities than they could alone, he said.”

This shows commitment to partner with the NDLEA to curb the menace of drugs coming in through the seaport.
