Many have been killed in Benue state after armed herdmen attacked Umogidi village of Entekpa-Adoka district in Otukpo Local Government Area of the state.
It was alleged that the massacre left 46 persons dead.
The same village had earlier been invaded by the armed attackers on Tuesday during which three people were killed.
Chairman of Otukpo LGA, Bako Eje, whose son was also killed in the latest attack, told newsmen that the villagr was under siege.
He said the armed men surrounded the village again on Wednesday evening barely 24-hours after the first attack and opened gunfire on the residents.
Eje said so far, this afternoon (Thursday), 46 corpses have been recovered while many people are still missing.
