In a surprising move, a founding member and the first National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief George Moghalu has officially resigned from the party.
In a letter dated Monday, August 26, 2024, and addressed to the Chairman of Uruagu Ward 1 in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State, Moghalu attributed the resignation to personal reasons.
He expressed his desire to maintain a harmonious relationship with his former party colleagues, despite stepping away from the ruling APC.
He also conveyed best wishes to the party members, emphasizing that his decision was personal and made with careful consideration.
New Telegraph reports that the letter was copied to both the LGA and State Chairmen of the party.
Moghalu has been a notable figure in the APC since its formation and previously served as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
