Gunmen on Monday evening reportedly killed three persons and injured others in an attack on Nnobi in Idemili North Local Government Area.
The incident, source gathered, occurred around 8.45pm.
Anambra Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu couldn’t be reached on phone.
The source said it was a case of cult war and not gunmen attack as speculated.
According to the source: “Only two persons were killed during the shootings involving cult members and few others got injured in the process.”
Source gathered that the gunmen were moving from one location to another while passers-by scampered for safety in the area.
A source claimed all the security operatives around the area, close to Nnewi ran away with their patrol vehicles during the attack.
