A toyota Hiace bus conveying members of Catholic Women Organization had a ghastly motor accident in Benue.
Salemgists gathered that the accident claimed unspecified number of lives while many others were injured.
The incident happened on Thursday, April 7, along Gboko to Makurdi road, when the driver of the I’ll fated vehicle lost control, veered off the road and hit a tree, Vanguard reports.
An eyewitness at the scene of the accident told salemgists that the women were coming back from a burial when the accident occured.
He said the vehicle they were traveling in lose control and crashed into a tree that was by the road side, adding that many people were dead and others were seriously injured.
“Both the injured and the dead have been taken to St. Christopher and NKST Hospitals, both in Annunne. The cause of the accident is overspeeding.
