Catholic Priest Kidnapped In Adamawa


A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Oliver Buba has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Adamawa State.

The incident, according to a statement signed by the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Rev Dr Stephen Dami Mamza happened in the early hours of Tuesday,21st May 2024 around 01:00 am in the Father’s rectory in St.Rita’s Catholic Church, Bare in Numan local government area of the state.

The statement notes that the Diocese has already committed the Priest to the powerful intercession of the Almighty God for his immediate release from his abductors.

It further solicits prayers from the Christian faithful and the general public for divine intervention.

When contacted for confirmation via Telephone, the spokesman of Adamawa State Police Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the development assuring that the command has dispatched a rescue team to the bushes and fringes of the area for his release.
