Customs Controller Nnadi orders additional work hours at Tin Can Island Port

The Customs Area Controller, Dera Nnadi has ordered additional work hours to clear the backlog of work causing delays in clearance of cargoes due to technical glitch at Tin Can Island Port in Lagos,

Nnadi gave this directive to the customs officers at the port in order to address the anticipated surge that is likely to follow the restoration of the network after days of downtime to clear cargoes at the mother port and bonded terminals,

Hence, he ordered the customs officers to resume 8am and close 7:30pm, effective from June 26, 2024 until cargo backlog are sorted following restoration of the command’s ICT platform.

However, he regretted the delays caused by the backlog created by thunder strike that affected the network infrastructure of the command coupled with network glitches that adversely affected connectivity between the Nigeria Customs Service platform and its Nigeria Integrated Customs Information System (NICIS II) platform.
