Unidentified gunmen stormed a wake-keep program at Mbayatyo Mbater council world of Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, on Saturday, killing an unconfirmed number of mourners.
Many persons were also said to have sustained injuries at the event held in memory of the late Mama Sule Achin Adigi,
A resident of the community, Mr Jiji Jack, announced the incident in a post on Facebook, according to source.
Jack called on the security forces for swift intervention.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene Sewuese said “we have not received that report yet”.
