The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged the Department of State Service (DSS), to obey the judgement of the Abuja High Court that granted bail to Mazi Emeka Ngoanadi since 2023.
IPOB said it was regrettable that Nigeria has become a lawless society where Government and its institutions flagrantly disobey court orders, as in the matter of “Mazi Emeka Ngoanadi”, who IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, alleged “was abducted on transit by the lawless Nigerian Secret Police called DSS along Lagos-Ibadan expressway and taken to Abuja in 2021.”
According to Powerful, Ngoanadi “Was detained incommunicado until his lawyers went to Federal High Court Abuja to seek an order for his release.
“The Abuja Federal High Court granted him bail in 2023 and ordered DSS to compensate him with the sum of Five Million Naira (N5,000,000).
“To date, the Nigeria government and her lawless DSS blatantly refused to release him or pay him compensation in contravention of the High Court order.
“We are alerting the International Community and Human Rights organizations that the Federal Government of Nigerian have reduced the Nigerian Judges to toothless bull dogs by ignoring their court orders.
“The fate of Mazi Emeka Ngoanadi is not different from the fate of many IPOB members in the hands of the oppressive Nigeria government and her lawless Security Forces, particularly DSS and Nigerian Army. These two notorious security agencies have taken the constitutional role of Nigerian Police.”
He alleged that the government security agencies abduct its members, take them to unknown locations without access to family members or lawyers, “If the abducted Biafrans are lucky to escape the extrajudicial execution, and the Nigerian Court frees or grants them bail, the Nigerian Army and the DSS will decide which court judgement to obey.”
Meanwhile, the separatist group has called on its members to disregard the purported secret Biafra Referendum, saying the report did not emanate from it but from “faceless criminals behind the kidnappings and car snatching syndicate in Alaigbo and their double agent buffoon in Finland.”
“For public records, there is nothing like Biafra Referendum at this moment. Do not fall into the Nigeria Government’s traps,” IPOB said, insisting it is the legitimate body to call for referendum in line with United Nations charter.
