Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election held on Saturday in Ondo State.
Governor of Kogi State and Chairman of the Governorship Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo made the announcement in the early hours of Monday, April 22.
According to him, Aiyedatiwa scored 48,569 to defeat his former Deputy Speaker of the state house assembly, Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin who got 15,343 votes.
The governor won in 16 out of the 17 local governments where the returning officers declared the election while the election of the Ifedore local government area of the state was cancelled as a result of violence in the council area.

Ododo, however, said the election went peacefully in many local governments with skirmishes in some of the council areas of the state. He said the total number of voters was 171, 922 while 95,178 were accredited. The total votes cast was 9,5178 and the valid votes were 9,5178
