JUST-IN: Olubadan-In-Council Certifies Olakulehin Fit To Become Olubadan

High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan designate, has been deemed eligible to succeed to the throne as Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan-in-Council.

The statement was made by the Olubadan-in-Council on Friday in Ibadan following a special meeting with the Olubadan-designate at Olubadan’s Oja-Oba palace.

New Telegraph reports that ten Olubadan-in-Council members attended the meeting, but Oba Abimbola Ajibola, the Otun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, who is reported to have stated that Olakulehin was unfit, was not present.

High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, addressed the media following the meeting and stated that the Olubadan-in-Council members had fulfilled their role as Ibadan kingmakers.

He claims that before Olakulehin is crowned as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, a letter to Governor Seyi Makinde requesting government approval will be issued.

“After the governor’s consent, a day for the coronation will be announced. We thank everyone for the support as we pray that all of us will be alive to witness the coronation,” he said.
