Since the assumption of Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Mr. Frank Onyenka as the O/C Apapa exit gate, sanity has returned in that premises. It is no longer business as usual, because DC Frank Onyenka, is a Customs Officer who is always bent to keep to Federal Government’s Policy in accordance to Customs Rule and Regulations; hence, he makes sure things are done properly to allow importers clear their goods within the stipulated time.

He goes out for fiscal cargo examination at the Apapa Port, in line with the government’s ease of doing business initiative; The O/C gate goes through all documents thoroughly before endorsing them, that is why agents no longer give wrong classification, declaration of their goods, thus giving the Federal Operations Unit less work in enforcement of under payments of duties

DC Frank Onyenka is known as a thorough bred customs officer who was once at Federal Ocean Terminal, Onne port, where he was the officer in-charge of the exit gate, has distinguished himself as a ‘no-nonsense’ officer, ensuring that the clearing agents who were used to compromising the officers at the terminal to get their Container marked for release and only to be stopped at the exit gate.

DC Frank Onyenka, is a goal-getter if such a person should be given an opportunity to head a command definitely, he shall perform credibly well in revenue generations into the coffer of Nigeria. Thus, it is not a surprise why the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, redeployed him from Federal Ocean Terminal, Onne port, exit gate, to Apapa Area Customs Command, to be the O/C Apapa exit gate.

Another, customs officer at the Apapa Area Customs Command who also contributes to the increase of the command revenue generations through his wealth of experiences is nobody than Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Ibrahim Turaki whose antecedent and records speak volumes at Seme Area Customs Command cannot be forgotten in a hurry.

DC Ibrahim Turaki, being the Man in charge of APM Apapa Customs Service and his prowess as a front runner in revenue collection, majorly contributed to the nation economic growth and trade facilitation.

His official courtesies and firm stand in discharging his duties has set a new pace of service delivery and changed the narratives of APM terminal as he resumes to duty coupled with his uphill task, streamlining and strengthening the operational machineries performance as a strategist.

DC Ibrahim Turaki’s professional focus is aimed at sustaining the command excellent records as his utmost priority.

However, investigation reveals that the DC has no fewer than 23 ACs, working with him at APM terminal where as some command does not have more than 7-10 ACs in a whole.

Controller Babatunde Olomu, should look into this and do the needful to allow the DC to have a breathing space, 23 ACs are too much to work with DC Ibrahim Turaki at APM terminal, Apapa Area Command.
