In what will come across as a really shocking development, an unnamed student has been shot dead at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) in Lagos, SaharaReporters reports.
The management of the school confirmed the development in a circular dated November 30, 2022.
It said the ongoing students’ week activities would be suspended immediately over a “gunshot in the college by some unruly personalities earlier today.”
The undergraduate’s death is the latest after a handful of tragedies that struck the school over the past months.
In September, one Bello Akerodele Adisa, a final-year student was killed.
The deceased was shot dead in front of his faculty, Art Complex at about 8pm.
In August, a student identified as Kunle, governor of HND 1 quantity survey department, was shot and killed at the school’s sports complex while watching a football match.
On July 28, 2021, Tosin Osatuyi, a final-year student of the college’s civil engineering department was killed while celebrating the completion of his final examinations.
