Rev. Fr. Raymond Ifeanyi Eselu, a Catholic priest, was killed in a car accident in Abakaliki, Ebonyi
State. On August 17, 2022, a collision happened in front of St. Theresa’s Cathedral in Abakaliki.
According to reports, the priest left the church in his car after attending the funeral of one of his colleagues, Rev. Fr. Christopher Nnachi Agwu.

Rev. Fr. Christopher Nnachi Agwu’s Funeral Brochure Eselu served as the parish priest of St. Patrick’s parish in Ezza-Ofu, Ebonyi state, until his death.
On August 18, the priest’s untimely death was revealed by the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki.
Eselu was characterized in a statement by the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Mathew Uzoma Opoke, as a cheerful and dedicated priest who delighted in celebrating Mass.
“We pray that the one who has so remarkably served in God’s vineyard will receive a feast full of blessings from the God for whom he worked.
In light of his honourable service, we humbly beg for your prayers for his eternal rest.
