Two persons rescued, two others killed as Police invade bandits camp


Police and local hunters in Gangtum district, of Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa state have invaded a bandit hideout rescuing a 60-year-old Abdullahi Buba and one Halima Ishaku.

DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the Command’s spokesman have confirmed the operation in a statement released to Newsmen.

According to him, the operation was carried out by personnel of the Ganye Division and hunters from Ganye at the Shiga da Iya Hill situated at a remote side of Gangtum village.

He also explained that the victims were kidnapped by the gang on January 19, 2022, and taken to the hideout, while ransom was being negotiated.

He ended by saying that that two of the suspected kidnappers were neutralized during the exchange of gunfire with the police and hunters, saying that others escaped with various degrees of bullet wounds.
