Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, 2023 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate has assured the suspended Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ningi that he’s not alone in his battle.
New Telegraph recalls that Ningi was suspended from the Senate for three months after raising an allegation of N3.7 billion budget padding in the 2024 appropriation bill.
Ningi made the allegation while speaking on BBC Hausa, saying about N3.7 billion could not be traced to any project in the 2024 budget.
Making case for the suspended Senator via his verified X page, Atiku assured the Ningi of his support in the battle that led to his suspension.
Atiku wrote: “During a solidarity visit to Sen. Abdul Ningi, @Sen_AbdulNingi, representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, I stressed the importance of preserving the integrity of government institutions if the interests of Nigerians are to be better served and the envisaged development attained.
“I assured Sen. Ningi that he is not alone in the battle that earned him a suspension in the Senate. -AA”
